Bashker “Bob” Biswas, PH.D. is the Principal of The Biswas Group Inc., a Human Resource Consultancy based in California, USA. Till June 2009 Dr. Biswas served as the Senior HR Advisor for the Zain Group in Kuwait. Dr. Biswas has held the position of Adjunct Professor of Human Resource Management and Business Administration at various universities and colleges.

Dr. Biswas has over 35 years experience in Human Resource Management with a Total Rewards focus. Additionally his expertise lies in Executive Compensation, Human Resource Strategy, Human Resource Information Systems, Human Resource Measurements, International Human Resources and International Compensation The companies he has worked for are: Control Data, Bechtel, Memorex, Maxtor, Hitachi Data Systems and BioGenex. Dr. Biswas has held at the Director level and above since 1982. At Maxtor and BioGenex he was the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. While at Memorex he worked out of London as Director of International Compensation and Benefits. Till February 1, 2009 Dr. Biswas was Zain Group’s Total Rewards Director, where he introduced all of Zain’s Compensation & Benefits Programs.

In addition, he has held consulting positions at Skopos Corporation (Skopos was a venture investment backed high-tech HRIS start-up co-founded by Dr.Biswas in 1983) and Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers. At PwC and C& L he was a Director of Human Resource Consulting in the San Francisco office. He was also C&L’s National High-tech Leader of Human Resource Consulting. A sample of Dr. Biswas’ compensation consulting clients are: Kinetics, Samsung, Hitachi Data Systems, Tut Systems, Chamber Publishing, California Teachers’ Association, Illuminet Technologies, Softplus, Nazomi Networks, Digital Island and Harris Computers, City of Salt Lake, Adeza Biomedical. Genesis Microchip, While at C& L Dr. Biswas was responsible for the firm’s National Software Industry Compensation Survey. In total he has provided Compensation Consulting to over 60 companies.

Dr. Biswas has taught at Sacramento State University, San Jose State University, Golden Gate University, Santa Clara University and Ohlone College. He is an Adjunct Professor of Human Resource Management. Dr. Biswas has authored and co-authored many articles in Human Resource Management. He has been quoted as a subject matter expert in the Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle and USA Today. Dr. Biswas has presented at WorldatWork’s National Conference and taught in their Certification Program. Dr. Biswas has conducted innumerous workshops and seminars all across the world.

Dr. Biswas holds B.A., M.A., M.B.A. and PH.D. degrees.

Dr. Biswas is one of the original charter members of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He has been a member of WorldatWork (American Compensation Association) since 1972. He has received a life time achievement award from this organization. He is a member of the Bay Area Human Resource Executives’ Council.
